I was born in İzmir and I grew up in Istanbul. I moved to Norway in 1981 after concluding Graduate Studies in Sociology at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. Since then I’ve lived in Oslo - except a period of 15 years in Belgium, France and the USA. I professionally worked as a broadcast journalist for NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) in Norway for twenty five years. I have been working as a literary translator for many decades. I live in Oslo and I have translated twenty-one books from Norwegian into Turkish.
